And what the hell is The Alien Perspective?
My name is Elena Stein, I am 20-something years old and I live between Europe and the Middle East on a crazy little planet called Earth.
(Ps, if you are from some other Galaxy rather than the Milky Way, you may be used to calling this planet in a different way. In any case, it's the blue one with the feisty hairless apes on it).
The Alien Perspective is my visual blog, where I collect illustrations and thoughts about Life, Love, Death and other Silly Things. See it as a sort of online whiteboard.
As you'll soon discover I am not interested in hyper-realistic portraits of pretty girls or deer (sorry deer, nothing personal). I am not interested in art that is so convoluted and pretentious that it requires viewers to have obtained a PhD in Critical Theory to be able to understand something.
I am not interested in trends either. I am interested in honesty. Radical honesty.
I want to cheat death in my own way. Looking for light in the most unexpected places. Chasing the sky suddenly showing through the cracks of a soul. Exposing the fragility, the naked knots.
To draw, and to make art in general, you have to put the mask down, undress, and make yourself vulnerable. Allow yourself to be hurt, to be naked.
It's not about fixing your holes. It's about making them beautiful.
Welcome to my world.
